90-days since GB surgery

Weigh Loss: It has been an interesting two weeks where my weight has just fluttered. Not happy about the weight loss stall out again. I know it is my food as the BF so kindly pointed out - You seem to be eating more. What I am doing is loading my plate with more food, eating too fast, not chewing well and suffering heartburn like symptoms and no weight loss as a result. Potatoes snuck back into my diet and they aren't that easy to eat so I just need to snuff them out of my diet again and focus on protein. I am going to see if I can successfully add the weight loss ticker to my Blog site. Weight Loss Statistics: 22 pounds in 89 days, 19% of excess weight gone.

Exercise: I am still seeing my personal trainer 2x per week and I am able to do a lot more with less whining. I have, however, lightened the load on my home exercise just because "I wasn't feeling it." Well am I feeling the lack of weight loss now, YES. Buggers back to the treadmill although I think I shall do kickboxing and Pilates instead (I am certified to teach both so I should be able to command myself in a good workout). Just read another Blog from a gal who had GB surgery as well. Same thoughts as me, it is just a tool and you still need to be vigilent about diet and exercise. I GOT LAZY and that is when the stall happens.

Goals: I renewed my certificates for fitness kickboxing instructor and mat pilates instructor. I need to continue with my education for my personal training and several other certifications. Still see that very strong need for an instructor/trainer who has gone through the GB process herself (I want that to be me) to be able to offer the understanding and kick-butt tough girl attitude to motivate bandsers. Bandsters want training with someone who has been through the banding and understands. I just want to be a hard-ass like my PT and whip them into shape.

Atkins Again...

Yes, I have done Atkins and then slid off the bandwagon gorging on carbohydrates and licking my bread crusted fingers. I know it works and I know it is the only thing that doesn’t make me crazy hungry. I’m not that fond of fruit anyway but I do love my veggies. I have already had to curb my raw veggies due to IBS symptoms which I might add have cleared up to only be troublesome in a stress situation. I can have salad a couple times a week but cooked veggies don’t cause an IBS flare up.

Called my sister to tell her I was signing up for the duration with her. She is doing the hypnotist thing (I have CDs for the same and will dutifully listen to them every day) and they told her Atkins or protein style diet is what to follow to lose the weight. South Beach diet did help me lose a bunch of weight but somewhere I lost consciousness and stuffed my mouth around bad carbs (French fries, potato chips, potato anything really along with pastries, bread and cookies). Oh, I kept eating the protein along with it so it was an additive calorie thing going on.

Day ½ is what I am calling today. I went out at lunch and bought sliced turkey and some Azurra sparkling water and organic fruit essence (zero carbs but mighty tasty). I also stocked up on unsweetened soy nut butter (my sister’s recommendation) as I have a peanut butter addiction.

At home tonight, I will clean out the pantry and make a food bank donation with the “no” foods that are nonperishable. Starting weight, gasp, 225 lbs (the boyfriend made fresh bread this weekend and I just finished off the 1st loaf). I am aiming for 180 by my birthday in March. That is only 45 lbs.
